It was great to meet Pete at last Saturday's EASY gathering. He has a very nice 914 that has been in his family for a long time.

Just saw this with a PCA mailing- that is NOT good news for Panorama!! Very sorry to see him go, from PCA and previously Excellence.
Have corresponded with him a few times, and yes he was definitely a friend of the 914!

Pete is a great guy ... I have / had a lot of interaction with him.

He really made Pano a wonderful magazine !
I hope the culture is there now . And agree he seems to raise everything he does to a higher level.

I don't see this as "something happening at PCA" or not as a club wide something is wrong ... he just does an amazing job , will be interested to learn where he ends up.

Sad news! He did a great job previously at Excellence and a fantastic job at Panorama. I hope Pano survives better without him than Excellence did when they lost him.

He really made Pano a top read!

I first met Pete at the Traverse City Parade walking into the Concour Banquet he was admiring my '71 Targa and I didn't know who he was, then they introduced him at the banquet as the new Editor. Great guy and obviously helped get my 914-6 into the May issue.

Excellence has gone more to the new-money Miami look of cars since he left and Panorama took over as my top P-car magazine. I hope they keep the momentum and continue with the new look/feel of Panorama.

Hope he does well in whatever he does next!

But always a shame to loose a 914 fan in the automotive press.

He really has done a great job of revitalizing Pano. Between Excellance and Pano, I can enjoy plenty Porsche related articles.

I do wonder if PCA National is having issues as the annual Parade seems to have more drama than necessary (registration, housing, etc.), though they did a great job of moving the concour site at the last minute at French Lick.

Sad to see Pete go, great guy and certainly did a wonderful job with Pano (and Excellence before). I've known Pete since he started with Pano (I was in a couple of the early meetings when I was a Zone Rep). Would love to know why he left and where he's going....

Hey Pete.... Care to give some inside info to your fellow 914 folk? We can keep a secret...we promise.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

No drama, just smart planning. The mid-atlantic/northeast is where the bulk of PCA membership lives. Even though there was over 750 rooms, we wanted the members to know as soon as possible if there would be an issue with finding housing. Better to find out in December than April, right?

The Parade crew is an amazing group of volunteers who do a job that would exceed that of a paid staff (passion is always the driving force). Heck, I was the Zone 2 DE registrar for seven years. That was one event and 250 cars AND a whole heck of a lot of work (over 400 emails for each year)....can't imagine how the Parade registrar does it with over 1000 entrants each year.

Well,
Who could have known that the venue would come under investigation from both state and federal law enforcement, as well as the SEC....
It's a sad situation up there, I hope the parade staff get it all straightened out.
