I've wanted to share the entire picture catalog for some time. After a few private requests, I decided to sit down and post about 90% of the pictures taken during the build of the RS.
Total is around 300 pictures! Whew! It took four hours. In order to follow the Blog chronologically, you need to proceed to the first set of pictures at the bottom, view them from top to bottom in that section, and then do the same with set 2 and set 3. I'm sorry they're somewhat upside-down, but the server wasn't very happy with the volume of data. The earliest pictures are from the fall of 2001 when I was simply building a replacement 1.7. To put the last year in perspective, the picture of us carrying the yellow chassis up the driveway was taken exactly one year prior to this year's WCC. It's been a busy year. I hope you enjoy viewing important milestones from the last three years of my life. Good luck getting through them. Click on my 'Blog' button below..... |

Joe,
Don't want to derail this thread, but I have a question (you can PM if you wish). Can you tell me (again?) your rotor/caliper combination? On the rear, it appears the caliper mounted to the stock trailing arm 3" spacing mounts. What rotor did you use with it (application and diameter)? Same question for the fronts. When attempting to fit my Carrera calipers to the rear swing arm mounts, the calipers appear as if they need to move outward (radially) by about 3mm. Carrera rear rotors are 290mm. Any advice? BTW, I have the same wheels you have, and ofter thought of powdercoating them in black. Your car convinced me that this is the way to go. They look great!! Thanks, Andy |

That is soooooo-coooool Joe,
I've been driving down the same road for 7 years now,but most all my pics are a photo album. It's great to have the pictoral history to show when ya sit down w/people to tell 'em your story. All the hard work, and effort. Most people can't imagine or contemplate attacking a project like that and see it to completion. It's a great record to look at years down the road, sittin on your front porch, drinking a beer (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif) alone with a mile wide smile on your face. Welll done (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) Ron |

Nice work Joe. Helluva job too putting all of those pics in the blog. If I didn't have my running thread, I'd do the same. But I'm glad I don't have too. I'm thinking now though... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif)
