My car doesn't have the front defroster vents and control boxes. I have a header so out with all the heater stuff. I can manage covering the bulkhead holes but what are the solutions for the top dash defroster holes? The long holes on the top of the dash.
I want to plug them and cover with 914rubber vinyl. Have to get vinyl without the cutouts. Anyone found a good solution? |

You could just cut pieces of metal out using some hand shears and tape/glue/weld/rivet them over the holes. Something that's going to help them stay put.
As far as the vinyl, I'll bet Mark at 914Rubber would send you a piece of vinyl that didn't have the cuts made for the defroster vents. Or you can do what I did, go down to the nearest JoAnn Fabrics and buy some black vinyl. Then use the old piece as a template for the new piece. Just don't cut the areas for your now gone defroster vents. |

On my first 914, I taped over the holes with aluminum tape, then covered with burlap for something different.
