Regarding Optima, the 34R seems to be the most popular and has the typical post orientation (negative towards the front and also closer to the engine). The 34 (no R) has the posts almost under the small grill (closer to the fender). I've heard the odyssey batteries are worth a look as well.

I have had thisOptima Red Top for a long time. I always put it on a trickle charge when at home using a jack port I installed under the rear fender. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Just picked up the 42 for the boy. He's putting it in tonight.
Thanks I wasn't near my car and couldn't check. We needed to get the battery in as Matt was planning to borrow it for WCR. |

The Optima battery needs to be cut just a little. The newest ones are a little too long. I did this last month. I used a keyhole saw and it made fast work of it. If you do not do this it sticks out of the tray, as you would have to put it in an angle to get it to fit.

Can anyone confirm if a group 35 Duracell AGM (east penn/deka) would fit height-wise (7 3/4")? Sam's Club has them along with the 34r AGMs for around $150 and $180 respectively, but the smaller footprint and lower CCAs make the group 35 size interesting if it would fit. I'd measure myself but I don't have the car.
