i pulled the 1.7 and bought a 2L....waited for the engine for a month...it was delivered and i was SOOOOOO ready to drive it!!!!...the gents put it in for me today and I dropped by for a progress report...LO AND BEHOLD....the wires to the dist were hooked up backwards, so that resulted in a fried condenser and points......they said it smoked and sounded bad.....what kind of parts do I need to replace, and the really obscure ones that a newbie wouldn't think of? it's all i can do to not explode right now (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) please help!!!

I would just replace the points and condenser first and see what happens. AFTER fixing the wiring to the dizzy.
