This really sux......but I know ya'll miss me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)
Anyhew, I went AX ing(SCCA) today. My usual co driver was out of town so I brought in another ringer......a "pro from Dover". I'll have to check the results to be sure, but I think he took TTOD....for door slammers.....not too bad for a guy that hadn't driven a 914 in years. He sat in the car for the first time and beat me by 3 seconds on our first runs and equaled the time of that effin noisy BP 65 Vette....from the first run group. The 200 degree springs and AR bar settings are pretty damn good enuff..... I got to within(?) 2.5 sec of Mr.Skinner....i'll try again tomorrow. |

Blair was agressive today. His buddy kept shifting from first to fourth (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hanged.gif) I got to utilize the VRacers today, and it was waaay better. I think I got 4th in GTU, but my top time was off of Blairs by like 4 seconds

My experience is wirh the Vracers. Now that I have Hoosiers, I appreciate the Kumhos more.....bang for the buck wise. For someone of my limited driving abilities, the difference is undectiable.
Just to porve it was no fluke, Mr. Skinner & ulf nearly matched TTOD for Sunday on his first run !! ....how does he do that?....damn....I was 3 +sec off his time. I guess this all means that I can build em', but can't drive em'. |

These days Blair usually is about 3 secs faster than me and right behind the 2 cars that are really well sorted out. I guess I am a better mechanic than driver too. The car is staying this way for the most part until futher funds become available.
Whats that saying "Time is money" well if you want better times, its time to spend more money! Geoff (IMG:style_emoticons/default/MDB2.gif) |

Hang in there. Everything is relative. You can drive'em, only some people can drive 'em faster (and slower). Practice, practice, practice..........

Oh well...........
The next go round is gonna be the PCA AX on 20 July. Normaly, this would be an opportunity to get a bunch of practice time for me & ulf.....however....My son is coming up from CA to play, Chuck will be back from CA, Doug will want to compare Fergie to ulf by driving both....he thinks ulf is quicker....Somewhere in there, I may get a chance to drive the thing. Definately gonna take a ride with Doug in ulf to find out WTF he does....not that I can do it. I suspect that he just goes faster....everywhere....sounds simple, eh? The ulfster is gonna get a workout. this puter is a PITA. |

QUOTE(Bleyseng @ Jul 7 2003, 05:48 PM) So did the 200# rear springs stop the front tire from lifting?? Geoff From what I could see, yes. The car cornered much flatter....even tho I softened the front AR bar. I really didn't get a good view of a tight corner exit where the lifting occured before....& nobody said anything...they usually do... Hay. another interesting thang. Tom Kotzian driving a new WRX Sti....stove stock.. ran a 49.8 or so. Doan mess with them Subies. Tom's Z06 was TTOD ay 47.6 or so. My hired gun ran a 47.8......rats. I'll have to get Boring Bruce and his camera to capture a shot on the 20th. He's a good shooter.(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif). |

JP, I saw a front wheel off the ground on the last turn before the finish. Can't remember which of you was driving. Guy from Tennesse who sold me my "new" 914 planned to buy a Subaru (Whoopdedoo).
