Our vintage club had their annual trans am themed race this last weekend....

some pretty neat cars.
I ran my 2.0/6 in the big bore run group with the monster cars...

the track incorporates a 1/4 mile drag strip with a 1/4 mile run off......

Dang those big blocks go flying by on that half mile straight... WOW... Lots of power!

I took a ton of pics.
There were 2 cars trading the lead most of the weekend.
here is one of them.

This Lola was so fast when it passed me:

This car was probably my favorite.
amazing car.
Was racec for the 68 trans am season by a private entry.
The team was getting all the hand me down parts from mark donahue and Penske. In fact Donahue tested it a few times and helped set it up and shake it down. The private team incorporated a few tricks of their own (fuel filler set up) that Penske liked and copied for Donahue's 69 car.

This car was once driven by Dick Trickle.
I took pics of it, because it makes my wife laugh when she hears the name:

They did worker rides during the lunch break and came onto the loudspeaker to announce that the corner workers would be especially appreciative if the owner of the lambo would give rides... ha....

Brant,

Thanks for the photos! I love those old Lola T70's. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif) Actually I like all of the old and new sports prototypes.
