But the engine won't come out! Then I wipe grease off a label on the bottom of the tranny and it says:" PULL-TYPE CLUTCH REFER TO WORKSHOP MANUAL TO REMOVE TRANNY"? 915 trannys are the same. I remove the circlip from the clutch lever and the lever itself so the arm can rotate freely. The tranny will then come off.
Of course, these are instructions for a 915... |

914RS - Thanks I got on the rx7 forum (firsttimeever) and found the answer.
Just need to pry back the little ring retainer clip gizmo. The engine popped out.
