Hey all, it has been a LONG time since I visited the ole 914 World. I have been busy being a dad and figuring out life!

I can't actually believe that I am considering selling my teener, but with that said... It is kinda tough hauling a family of four in my 914. I am curious as to all your opinions of how much my car is worth. For those of you that don't know my car, it was featured in the June 2007 Excellence magazine (7 pages, 9 pictures) and won the "Best of Show" in the 2006 Ventura County Porsche Mid Engine Mania car show. I will post some pictures soon.

Year - 1973
Mods - $60k invested
2.0 WRX turbo suby
New interior
One off custom Kenesis wheels
911 front suspension and brakes
Upgraded rear brakes
Upgraded Axles
Customized transaxle
Steel flares (performed by Dana from project Anklebiter)
OEM Porsche Granite Green paint (looks more grey than green)

The car still looks like it used to (bad ass).

Thanks

Keith

The closest thing to your car is an Olympic Blue very custom build by Renegade that went for $25,000 or so I believe. I saw the car on line and it was 1st rate. You have the flares he did not. He had around $60,000 in it as well. A little different but close for knowing what the market is for very nice WRX Turbo 914. It sat on this world site for a long time till it found a new home. I almost got it but bought an 86.5 928 and not the WRX.

I agree with Bob. Unfortunately it won’t sell for what it deserves. Your car really looks fantastic.

Yes, a fantastic car without a doubt. As a Subaru fan (Forester and Outback owner) I would love it. No idea what it's worth, but it looks like others found something comparable at $25K. You should keep it, but good luck with whatever you choose to do!

If your car shows well in the pictures you could try BAT. Not sure if I understand the reserve price auction. For a guy that wants that car and does not have the time or ability to do this work, throwing money at it is one way to own one. Your car really does look good. Great color and wheels and all the detail on it. You might try here but most guys are looking for a huge deal. I see it as a huge value as costs for sorting out this kind of a build cost a great deal of money if going through a shop and not turning the wrenches by yourself.

You never know. If you are not in a rush the better it is for you. Buying/ Driving season is on us. Not so much with west coast states cars but for sure the east coast area boys. I remember seeing your car before on line as you have been here from the start.

Best of Luck,

Bob Burton

This is somewhat related to my '914/6 conversion value for insurance' thread, you won't get back what you have into it. With a /6 you have the value of the porsche engine alone upping the sale value to $40K-ish, even though same deal the owner may have twice that into it.

Let me know when when you decide on the price, I had a customer asking about 914's, subi conversion in particular, just yesterday. We talked about this fact.

I feel very strongly in a value between 30-35K

Good luck with the sale!

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) If I had room and more $$$$ I'd be a serious buyer.

Love to see this up close...bring it to WCR in June...only 1/2 day away driving.

You car has a certain brute performance oriented thing going on which doesnt yield the highest resale so
High 20's
For example
It doesnt appeal to a female crowd that just want a cute little porsche (they spend $ too)

Hauling a family of four in a 914 ?

This sounds like a problem for the

Ferrari mondial
( i only learned this car exists recently )

I remember seeing your car at the 2006 German Auto Fest in Ventura; it won best in show. It’s a stunning car ! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

GLWTS. That is a terrific looking car and someone is going to love all you have done. Be patient and the buyer will come along. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Yes Keith. It has been much to long since you have been around here. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wavey.gif)

I have had the pleasure of riding in and touring with this car. It was built to the highest standards with great attention to detail. It is the nicest Subie conversion that I have seen. Anyone thinking about a potential purchase should give it serious consideration. It would be a great addition to any garage.
