Wanted to share this interesting moment when I was working inside the cabin.
A 1975 penny hidden underneath the carpeting of my 1975 914. ![]() The Porsche gods are watching over me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) -Ed |

Looks to have minimal wear, prolly been in there since then.
Put it back, acknowledging it as the good fortune talisman it be... |

Nice find! For sport, I sift my pocket change looking for pre-1982 pennies.
Keep it - pre-1982 copper pennies are the only coins left in circulation actually worth more than face value. The nickel is close to par but hasn't tipped over $0.05 yet. The day is coming. Pre-1964 silver is worth more of course, but it's been over two decades since I found silver coinage in my pocket change. New pennies are garbage zinc with a light plating of copper. http://www.coinflation.com/unitedstates/ And we wonder why 914's are now trading for crazy prices. Prices aren't higher, the value of the dollar is lower. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) |

My dad rebuilt a early sixties sprint car recently and when he was finished he glued a nickel to the rear push bar. When I asked him why he did it he said "all the old racers did that. That way if they crashed the car it was always worth at least a nickel"

In my 67 bus I found a 1966 german nickel (pfennig) during the resto, US bus so it must have fell out of a workers pocket during production. Not worth anything but a cool find.

I keep the coins, business cards, pens, pencils and once even a .38 casing in a bag in the glove box. It's part the cars soul that I won't remove. Brings me good luck. I call it a Ju-Ju bag. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I found a couple quarters in my car
Unfortunately, it was after I had removed the rusted outer driver's side long and I was cleaning out the dirt and rust flakes. I realized I had poked through into the passenger's compartment. Worst feeling I ever had finding money. -Andrew |

My black 1976 sold two days before I could buy it back in 2008...found the seller and he was holding my old hospital ID ca. 1977 in his hand, stuck behind the seat.
