Hey guys. I had my AAR wire blowing fuses when it was connected. I took it out and saw the power lead was grounding where the coating had worn off. It was bearly hanging on. Then it broke off from inside the tube that stuck out the bottom of the AAR. I was able to take it apart. Looks surprising clean and heating wire still good.

Question: How can I get this ceramic piece out without breaking it in order to get access to the wire that broke. I am afraid to pry it to hard so I don't break it.

How should I got about doing this?

Thanks,
Jason

I think my AAR wire is almost where you are at, definitely curious to see the response. I also have a spare I'd like to rebuild. Good luck! Watching.

I remember reading a post that addressed replacing it with a resistor. I don't remember what the rating was but supposedly it generated enough heat to function as a replacement. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
