The trunk hinge bolts are under constant stress, both front and rear.
Even in the closed position there is constant spring tension. Now you can replace all 4 of these bolts inexpensively. They typically go for @$10 each. We even supply the lube. Aluminum copper graphite grease If you have ever had one of these break you will note a ounce of prevention is well worth avoiding the ensuing hassle. So who's in ? Attached thumbnail(s) |

The spring will need to be disconnected, but pretty sure you could do one at a time much easier.

The spring will need to be disconnected, but pretty sure you could do one at a time much easier. Ok, thanks Mark. So it's probably good to have on hand a helper and a tool for spring release (e.g., like the one OC Mark was selling last year). I've got one of those. |
