Has anyone come across a good phone mount for the 914? Maybe that replaces the ashtray or something?

There's more threads where that came from.

Like it was made for the job. It supports my iPhone no problem. Let me know if anyone wants to see a picture.

Not sure if this will show in the picture but my ashtray is a 3D printed replacement with a phone mount built in.

I’d like to see a picture, please! Are you using a CD slot or the ashtray?

It just goes in above the ashtray using the slot above the ashtray like it was the CD slot.

I did a search and found the "thingiverse". However, I don't have a 3D printer. So that really isn't an option. If someone sold the completely finished piece I'd be thrilled to get it.

Did you print this yourself, or is there a vendor who sells them complete? I'd love this item.

I was in on the original group buy from the guy who made the 3D file. This guy might help.

I have the perfect place for my phone when in the car.... in my pocket.

If you ever call me, you will be rolled to voice main if I am driving. I don't answer texts either.

Go old school......Just hang up and drive.

Currently working on a better version of the things universe one (which is solid). They will be ready within the next couple of weeks. And can be bought as a ready product!

@ClayPerrine - you're right when it comes to calls but I use mine for nav and the 3D printed version puts it in a very convenient place.

@DK23 - if you download the thingsverse file and then go to any number of online 3D printing outlets, you can get it done. That's what I did at Xometry.

They sent me this link - not sure if it'll work on a one-off piece but it's worth a try - it says: Use my link here to create an account, and we will both receive $50 in custom parts when you order for the first time: https://mbsy.co/DPfzG

I bought a cheap holder on Amazon and attached it to the ashtray.

Last Friday in a pinch, I just opened the ashtray and stuck the phone in the slot created. Not elegant, not pretty, pretty tacky but functional.

Definitely need a better solution and the 3D printed version might be the solution
