I have searched and browsed 914rubber but i am not finding the size or product I need to fix the grill to the engine lid, any pointers please? I'm in the process of refreshing the Deck lid and grill parts as well. I haven't gotten them fully sanded and painted yet, so I haven't reassembled. However, Mark at 914 Rubber told me that they don't include those push nuts in their Engine Deck Lid Kit because they have to get them from the Porsche dealer and they are pricey(if you call them, they CAN get them for you though). Since I'm not doing a Concours resto, I just went to the hardware store and bought these: I test fit these on the grill "prongs", and I think they are going to work fine. Good Luck! |

After doing a little more research going through the Porsche Parts catalog, I'm pretty sure this is the actual speed nut in question:
https://www.aasesales.com/products/h0c-b52-15i-104982 You can search on the part # and try to find different vendors with the best price. Doing a quick search, I found them here at $2.00/EA. For comparison, the push nut pictured in my first post above is around $ .42/EA at ACE Hardware. I think you need 18 of these to do the engine grill and both side grills. |

Yep, that is the original one. Use the part number listed 999 507 220 40 and do on line search. Found them for $1.59 each at Gaudin Porsche.

I bought some from 914rubber.. They are the push on speed nuts with Some sort of buytl under them I believe. Yes and different from the "Genuine" Porsche ones that are now hard plastic instead of the original ones that were much softer like rubber. Neither is ideal as the butyl ones get gooey in the heat and the plastic ones are real tough to snap on. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) |
