I took this photo a couple days ago. Interesting visual side by side. Shows how low and wide the 914 is.

I few years back I noticed something kind amusing about the 911's
There was a side by side marketing picture that they took from the rear of the new 2016 model, so I decided to overlay the old one on top of the new one to see the difference in size. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i.imgur.com-18880-1597950520.1.png) Then as I looked closer I realized the biggest difference. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i.imgur.com-18880-1597950520.2.png) They made the 911 wide! |

I love the side by side shot with the 917 next to a 914. So tiny!

Yes, 3 tailpipes! Ben's GT style muffler. And yes, a warmed over Carrera 3.0 in it.

The 2016 911 is only 9.5 inches wider than the 64 911. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) |

My stable a couple of years ago. When the offer came for the 914 it was hard to refuse.
Not a lot of regrets with with the 987 S though. The 914 was joyful and a novelty. The 987 above 4k make one absolutly giddy. I.ll never go to the dark side......although I was eyeballing a 992 pretry hard at the Covid compliant PCA CC last weekend. |
