Watching Van's Porsche engine build on youtube installing the piston rings. He installed the ring with the dot for the top rings. I thought that is the second compression ring with the top rings un-marked??

I just did in my Hasting rings on a set of KB pistons
First ring: un marked and Square- Can be installed in the first piston groove up or down does not matter
Second ring. Has inside bevel- and DOT on one side- Installed on second piston groove with DOT facing UP
Oil ring (3 pieces) Installed in Botton piston groove. Expander is installed with ends facing UP First. Followed by thin rings on top and bottom of space/oil control expander

Hope this helps
