owners manual contains no reference to 2.0/1.8 on cover like other markets.
just straight 914 since they only sold a 2.0?

Attached Image

images on broker website low res and hard to see detail.
but car looks very original and in excellent condition.
perhaps restored.
wolfsburg crest on steering wheel. kilometer speedo.

maybe if you wrote to them inquiring you might get sent a better batch of images for your LE website.

George has had a Japanese Spec Bumble Bee at Auto Atlanta. Do not know if it is still there.

Looks intriguing. I can see some of the japan specific front trunk labels making me think it is a real SL, not one imported from elsewhere. Wish I knew how to contact the owner and what it would cost to bring it to the states.

I would like to know the VIN at the very least.

Goeorge has the only known 914SL BB, this would be a terrific addition.

Did the Japanese or non-US market use painted Fuchs instead of Mahles?

Black engine lid lettering - interesting. What's on the sides of the center console? The painted Fuchs are cool - didn't realize that was Japanese SL-specific. $56k USD.

at minimum its a J market car 2 L for sure.
rare enough, if its a real J ice-cream.........well
can see the specific speedo in some shots.

you can contact the broker Jeff.
the website i have linked to has a button.
they are international agents, who get overseas buyers for some of these cars.
you could just send them an email through the link and say you are interested in buying.
i'm sure they would arrange a set a higher res images to review.
be worth it just for documentation on your LE register.

of you put a J aisu kurimu together with a J maruhanabachi you are really talking as a 914 collector. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

there is a member of this website lives in Japan.
he bought the white 914/6 and had a bit of trouble on the docks with the car sitting outside etc. there is a thread somewhere.
i thinks he speaks japanese, has been on the ground there a long time.

he could probably look into this for you jeff if you can find the thread about his car and get his member details and pm him. he bought it from another member here who fully restored it. i can't seem to search the thread out and locate it.

looks like sound system speakers. hard to tell. at least a PO didn't wreck the door cards? maybe they are yakuza shields. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

don't think the black engine lid letters are factory. but you never know.

@JeffBowlsby .

got you the Vin number.
its hidden in the japanese condition report.
pretty low res. you can just make it out.

think its 4742914787 or it could be ---4783.
bit hard to tell.

love the way its includes 914 in sequence in the run of numbers.

This is the FB page of the shop that has the 914.

https://www.facebook.com/autounion7707

I'm not awake during Japan working hours these days to call, but I'm sure you could send them a message or email.

great link @3liter914-6

that shop would be worth a visit just for the garage cookups!

some interesting cars floating around in the photos.
audi quattro, citroen bx gti, renault alpine.

@JeffBowlsby should just send an email.
those J Car pervs would be into a conversation - probably love to talk 914 with him. if the car has been sold probably even hook him up with owner.
looking at the gear in the workshop thats a genuine SL for sure.

Confirmed with broker that it is 14767. Interesting that this car is only 329 VIN away from Georges BB 914SL. Made a few days apart.
