Does anyone have this installed in their 914 ?

https://www.h3rperformance.com/collections/...sher-seat-mount

Looks like @pvollma has it on but it's not specified how it gets installed ...

http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...p;#entry1961034

Would otherwise anyone know of alternative fire extinguisher mounts that actually fits under and in the front side of the passenger seat without having to do custom mods ?

Thanks !

I don't like any non-stock modifications. I'm old fashioned I guess. I put my FE in a thick wool hiking boot sock & stick it behind the passenger seat. The seat moves easily so the FE is easy to get to. It doesn't move since the seat is almost all the way back. Whatever. Enjoy your evening.

I found a simple bracket on Amazon, screwed it to a small piece of 1/2" plywood and it lives on the passenger floor somewhat tucked under the seat. Cheap, effective, easy

Me, too. Added two strips of the “hook” side of adhesive Velcro to back of the wood so the unit doesn’t slide around.

"so it doesn't slide around" how many G's are you cornering these days? Mine just lays there and hasn't moved a bit, but I am running narrow tires (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

I have this one. I was able to secure one side of the bracket on one of the seat rails (b/t the seat rail and the bottom of the seat). I believe I had to get slightly longer bolts to accommodate that extra thickness.

I intend to go back and fab something up that would serve as an extension to allow the other side to reach the other seat rail on the bottom of the seat, but I haven't gotten to it yet. It's pretty secure with just the one side bolted in, but I want it to be symmetrical and fully secure.

I have used this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009YO2HS...=UTF8&psc=1

screwed to a piece of 1/2" plywood, sits on the floor partially under the passenger seat. No fasteners required, hasn't moved at all. the friction between the "rough" plywood and carpeting holds tight.

Oh, my board has a smooth finish. Should roughen that bottom.

I did one a while back, no permanent mods to the 914 needed, did have to cut down the two solid mounts on the FE mount side then joined them with a dowel, worked out well, super solid--my "non-stock" seats are on stock seat rails:

@Stef914
Here’s my hobo setup. Pics below. 5lb Purple unit.
I think I’ll replace the board with one that has a rougher bottom and is longer to extend past handle and bottom.

I'm sure Paul Walker was saying "yeah I'm glad there's not a modded, not stock fire extinguisher in this Carrara GT, let's go.

Of course, a torched 914 from a fuel line fire would be old fashioned, just like many back in the day.

Sorry, but your solution requires frequent drills to remove the FE from the HBS or it may be worthless.

Say you put the FE in the HBS behind the PS and a fuel line fire, battery side, errupts. You freak and amaze at the size of the fireball. You reach over to the PS adjuster and try to move it up the get to the HBS. But b/c your not in the seat you can't make it move.

That impressive ball of fire is now getting ready to explode.

It's at this point you realize you are going to die just like Paul Wlker because you didn't like any stock modifications.

ALL 914's need a quickly accessible FE!

I glued a strip of plywood to the floor under the carpet, and then screwed the stock extinguisher bracket into that.

It's a Brey-Krause mount.
