So all I really need before I open the doors on the shop in FL:

Bridgeport
Metal lathe
(real ($6k)) tubing bender
(real ($5k)) tubing notcher
Hunter alignment machine
Tire machines
and overhead lift.

These total about $29k. I'll keep looking......

I visit a chassis shop on a regular basis that builds many of the top front wheel drive drag racers. This guy is a wizzard in bending and welding tubing. He doesn't use any kind of expensive tubing notcher. Like I did when building a cage, he starts a fishmouth with a chop saw and fine tunes it with an angle grinder. Takes him all of 2-3 minutes for perfect fit.

5000 is a lot you can spend somewhere else. Only my .02.

I forgot the most important tool: a fermenter!

Well, Nico and Liz can take care of that....

Plasma rules!!! my dad uses one almost daily for roofing/construction, on a normal house, the plasma cutter takes a full day off the job...

decent plasma cutter: $1200
tips: $10

finishing all 5 day jobs in 4 days: priceless!!

I have his old one in my garage(cheap POS with built-in air source) it needs repair though... the cheap ones aren't meant for daily duty
