Ive had eight 914's. They've all had a 'crackling' sound after shutting off the engine and parking in the garage. It's something I've really come to associate with 914's and become fond of. My current 73 2 Liter 914 does not do this... or if it does it's very subtle.

Wish it did it more.

I associate that noise with SSI's. The OE HE's didnt make so much noise.

My stock heavy steel OE HEs carry-on like that when returning to the garage after a drive. Agree, part of the personality of these cars in stock form.
