First shot at this. Got sick of nicking the horn during autocross when things got crazy.

A little sanding, and a little black paint and it should look pretty good.

Now I am think about putting vinyl over it with a cut out for the insignia. Vinyl on a cylinder seems like a difficult job.

I found this on the internet: “ I just made a lower dash extension for my AC vents and controls. To get the finish to look like my faux leather seat cover, I used Dupli-Color bedliner spray for light texture and then Dupli-Color vinyl and fabric spray for the finish. It is very hard to tell the difference. An awesome finish that looks like leather. “

Maybe try it on something similar in finish.
