I'm replacing the wiper switch on my '73. I bought a used wiper switch from @914Sixer . There's a loose piece in the bag and I cannot tell where it goes in the switch.

Does it just pop in somewhere or is it broken?

Ok ... I think I figured it out. I'm comparing it to another wiper switch I have on hand and it looks like it goes at the top. This switch has a piece of tape that the factory must have put on it to keep it from falling out. Guess I will need to add that here.

Looks like your new switch is missing the long metal piece that makes contact with that short ground piece.

Switch is 6 pin, for electric pump. No lever for squirter.

Still needs to switch power for the pump. You're missing the part that makes electrical contact with the ground tab, which has nothing to do with the pneumatic squirter.

So I'll need this piece (see pink arrow) for the switch to work as well?

That's what i'm thinking.
Do you have a multi-meter? You should be able to trace out your new switch.

Who knows, maybe it has some different innards we can't see.
