Went to the Dreamcruise today and only saw one other 914. It was parked and for sale, anyone else attend?

I went, but didn't bring a 914. Saw a total of 4 914s. 1 Irish Green, 1 Red, the Yellow one for sale, and an (Alaska?) blue one with 2 decent looking girls in it (with 8 loose valves and a cloud of blue smoke) . One of the guys was definitely a member here as he had a hat on. License plate "914 17". I think it was the red one. I stepped out to the curb to bend his ear as he inched by, but right before he got to me he changed lanes to pass a Camaro. |

THe Woodward Dream Cruise is one of those gearhead things that I have to do before I cruze on up to that final big cruzin in the sky, or wherever its being held.

I was in the crowd on Saturday (offical day) btwn 14 & 15 mile rds. I saw the red one, I think it was Garland (John). I waved, but he was too busy smiling to the girls in the tight tank tops. Woo, Woo they said, what a hot looking car. I kept the 914 home on Saturday because of the crowds. It takes 1-hour to go one mile & you suck in car fumes from the big blocks in each lane. I did the (official) Saturday a few years ago & had fun. People along the curb are so close they can reach out and touch your car. Lots of thumb ups and screams of joy if you lay some rubber & race your loud motor. I usually go early in the week when the un-official event starts on Monday. By Wednesday the crowds are almost as large as the Saturday event. This is when most of the sponsers let us park in their paid for parking spaces & traffic moves along. The hub of the cruising happens at 13-mile & Woodward. If you attend plan on comming Monday before the event. You get a full week of Automotive bliss. This years Saturday crowd was only 1.1 million people down from last years 1.7 million because of rain in the morning. That's along a 20 mile stretch of Woodward Ave. This year there was 40,000 cruise cars, same as last year. Everything from nuts to bolts, hot girls, rednecks to high society. Hi John, my name is Nick Moskatow ,and I live in the area. I was at the cruise,but only for the end of the show. I did see many Porsches in that short 45 minutes of time,but no 914s. Last year was different, I spent the hole day to night and got some of the best muscle car photos anymone could hope for. There was this one special moment where a beautiful eye catching red 914 drove by. My question is, was that you driving that great looking 914? The photo is below.

Nick, Yes that's me with my oldest son Sean. I saw your car for the first time at last year MWC and posted a late photo of it "as one I forgot to post" Your thanked me then. So now I thank you for this great shot from last years Dreamcruise. You also posted some great pictures this year from the MWC. Every year I take three trips down Woodward. One in the Bug with the family, and one with each of my sons in the 914.
