Recent 74 project I got for a shop build came with a rare, factory side shift LSD. I can’t recall the last side shift one I’ve seen.

Metal tab indicating oil type was first clue.

So I checked the flanges and sure enough they turn together.

Lastly I checked the case and sure enough the serial jibber started with HB rather than HA (open diff).

The COA that came with the car had the LSD listed from the factory.

Over the years two have come my way. One side shifter and one rear shifter, both
HB boxes
The oddest part is that one came as an extra with a car I bought and the second
came from the buyer of the same car. The trans was in his pile when I delivered the
car. For sale ? Yep.
Both diffs. need freshning.

Im not sure what I am going to do with this one.

Option 1: Completely restore, sell to someone who wants/needs period correct HB box all set up.

Option 2: keep the case/gears, and swap in a WaveTrac for street use. Ill keep the ZF in storage to sell with it later. I want to put an LSD in my Organsm project and this one came with the car.

Option 3: Use a different box, set it up how I want, keep this one on the shelf/sell outright.

Nice options to have.
