Here is a link to an article on this—

https://silodrome.com/porsche-914-6-custom-roadster/

and the mecum listing

https://www.mecum.com/lots/1117748/1976-por...ustom-roadster/

Probably not most people’s cup of tea, especially the purple . It’s a 75, custom rear flares not GT flares, a nice 2.2 /6 power plant,

Phil

I wouldn't buy it but I don't hate it. Purple is not good to my eye.

The rear-only flares are imbalanced and odd-looking to me, not like the flares on an old 930.

Or what happens in a rollover? The worst 914 aberration imaginable! It will probably go for what the engine is worth. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

Maybe that is why they are selling it.
Also no headrests or wiper arms. Ranked windshield so minimal head room.

The way the fuel pump is installed leaves a lot to be desired. The exposed wiring looks like shit.

To me it looks like they used the top from a Boxster for it. The lines of the top don't fit with the rest of the car.

The rear flares seem to be off 944 quarters and the top chop looks to be old Beach Boys kit.

Does anyone have a guesstimate of the number of near original /6’s that haven’t been hacked up, converted into race cars, crashed / scrapped, etc?

Even wondering if it can be ball parked say 3000 ish built - only x% survive? Can this be parsed out of the VIN database?

VIN: 4762901148 That's not a 6 VIN so at least its a conversion not a Genuine factory Six.

Understood. It just got me thinking about the untouched % of originals. Lots of originals got turned into race cars and subsequently crash damaged. Same for some percentage of street cars that don’t survive crashes, rust, etc.

What I like is the “Bluetooth timing adjustment unit”. I wonder how they would describe a distributor if the car happened to have one?
