Congrats on retiring. I retired earlier this year and went from 5 days a week to 6 Saturdays followed by Sunday. Enjoy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Good thing about SoCal is that you can drive your teener ~350 days out of the year. Enjoy your new surroundings. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I heard there is more Porsche's in So Cal, then anywhere else in the world for that same reason. I can't drive a mile without seeing one. I was in Europe on vacation including Stuttgart Germany and rarely saw one, except for the Porsche museum and factory.
But yes, California is not the cheapest place to live or retire... SC is a nice place to retire and a lot cheaper than California. My sister in law has rental property their. Best of everything in your retirement!!

I have yet to encounter a 914 in the wild unless it was a gathering. There is one guy in corning with a 74 but I have only seen his car in my Porsche guys shop once. Apparently he doesn't drive it. There is a 914/6 being rebuilt meticulously by a person in Waverly but it is not road ready yet and I don't think he is planning on it being a driver. It is immaculate.
