So I’ve got my rear valance and side skirts all prepped for paint, but can’t seem to find how to remove the front one so it matches with the others. After getting the front end up in the air, I can’t remove the valance because the bolts are up under the bumper. I can’t get the bumper off because the valance is in the way to get the bumper bolts off?? Is there some sort of magic to get these off??

The bumper bolts are accessible from the front wheel well.

I seen those two bolts on each side of the bumpers which are easily accessible, but aren’t there also two more sets just inside the fog light grille area??

Thank you Butlybrian!
That was way too simple for all the headache I caused myself…lol.
I seen a picture of the back of a 74 bumper and seen those two middle brackets that I thought were bolted to the car, they just hold a piece of rubber insulation.

A suggestion:

Unless this is concours car... replace the bolts that hold the bumper on with studs. That way the dog bone mounts will stay in place when installing the bumper, and you can put the nuts on while your toolwench or helper holds the bumper in place.

Excellent Idea!
I don’t build cars to show them, I build them to drive em’! Why own a car if you’re not going to enjoy it! I do usually overbuild everything because one day all the cars I’ve built will go to my 17 year old daughter, and I want her to be able to enjoy them, not to be paying someone to work on them.
