I'm probably not doing this right, can't find much on alternative seats for my 914 on this site. Anyway lets start afresh, I find it strange for a car that can really corner well that the standard seats do not hold you anywhere near firmly enough. I would like to upgrade to something not TOO expensive and that will fit into the car with not too much hassle, any recommendations? Yes I know its a bit of a crime but I don't feel that I can really drive the car to its full advantage as it stands or sits!

Not a crime at all! The regular seats are not all that well suited to the kind of cornering these cars can achieve. There are some sport-purpose seats out there that look correcting and fit fine. I have a pair of Konig seats I just did and they are for the slimmer guy but hug amazing. Those can get pricey though but not as bad as Scheel which can cost as much as 5k each. Here is an eBay seat I see that looks great and this craftsman is awesome:

He can do custom as well.

Renegadehybrids.com also makes some high bolster seats.

My GTS Classics LeMans seat is the perfect upgrade for my original, only better! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) I bought one for better support for my bad back, and it fits me well for driving all day. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

It looks like they are only selling kits now rather than built seats. At ~$1500 plus shipping (AAs price), plus the cost of what it will take for an upholstery shop to put it together for you for those that don't have the tools/time/interest, makes them a pretty spendy option.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) The GT LeMans is a great seat. Bought mine 15 years ago and they have held up good
