My assumption is that when the door is closed it opens the switch, turning off the buzzer or whatever. So when the door is open (switch closed), there should be continuity between the two pins. Is this correct? I have cleaned it pretty aggressively but either can't get in there, or miss understand it.
I have pictures on my build themed, but can't add them here. I will add pics tomorrow. Thanks Peter |

Some door switches are 2-pole, others are 4-pole. You might get the info you need by studying the schematics.

So it appears that the terminals should have continuity between them. Do you have any pictures of the 4 pin switch? My harness has 4 terminal at the doors, but I only have this switch.  Thank you, Peter |

The switch is normally open when the door is closed (ie as you show it).
The continuity would be between the terminal and the housing that you’re holding when the door is open (ie when you release the plunger). If you measure it as you are holding it there will be no continuity between the terminal and the metal housing that you are holding. That metal housing is grounded to chassis when it’s screwed to the body. Release the plunger and you will have continuity between the terminal and the metal housing that you are holding. |
