Hi world,
I am in need of racing numbers for two cars. Does anyone know of a cost friendly numbers company? I need something better than tape.

Have you checked at a print shop. We used to get a local one to print us what we needed. They can use a vinyl that doesn’t stick so much and is easier to remove.

I used to have my local vinyl decal cutting place (local sign shop) cut about 6” or 8” numbers. About $2 per number - pick your size / font / color

Then adhere those to magnetic sheeting (about $20 - enough for lots of numbers). Available on Amazon or wherever you want.

Or . . . adhere the vinyl to the car directly if you want them permanently applied and it’s $20 cheaper.

you could potentially save a buck...
buy the magnetic sheets... trace and cut out your own numbers

easy to take off later.
and probably very very affordable.

You can also use tape in a pinch!

Thank you all for your help, by cheap I meant under $60. Our cars were excepted into the Grand prix festival and historic race tribute laps at Watkins-glen. Where numbers and loudness are required.

We have the loud covered and are working on the numbers. Tape is a very good possibility. It will only be used for the two or three laps.

Check out https://clubregistration.net/
We use Club Registration for registering drivers to all PCA Club Races and HPDE events and the site also sells nice numbers and door panels. They can customize with team names, etc. Chris Alvarado runs it and is a good guy to boot.

Magnetic numbers can lift off of panels at speed. When I was on the safety crew, we collected several "meatballs" that went flying from various cars. A little tape on the leading edge usually keeps them from lifting.

^^ Yup I've used mag numbers before but had to tape them for practical and rules reasons. I figure paint thickness and other variables affect how well they work on a given car.

I've used these guys multiple times with total satisfaction for vinyl. https://www.edecals.com/
