Hi Teeners! It's been a while, finally figured out an electrical problem that was preventing the fuel pump from running. A new ignition switch did the job.
Last Fall my drivers window stopped working. That turned out to be because the two screws at the bottom of the rear track has vibrated loose and disappeared. The glass had popped out of the lift track, I can't recall if the glass left to rubber, or the rubber left the track. However, at the time I cleaned off some sticky stuff and put it back together with a new rubber from Stoddard. They couldn't say whether I should glue it or not. Yesterday the glass came out of the rubber, and the rubber was loose in the door when I got into it. I don't see any issues with loose parts, and the window had been functioning fine with little or no resistance. Question is: Should I use an adhesive between the track and the rubber, the rubber and the glass, or both? And if so what would be a good solution to use. I'm familiar with the adhesive to glue fixed panes in, but I think that may be too permanent of a solution. As always, and suggestions are appreciated. Rob |

What year is the car? 72 and earlier had different doors and windows mechanisms then the later cars.

Between the track and the rubber I’d use 3M weather strip adhesive. It flows out of the tube pretty quick so be careful and wear rubber gloves. It sticks pretty good. You should be able to get it at most auto parts.

Thanks Ed: I had watched Ian's video a while back. Watched it again this morning and as I had remembered, the ONLY detail he skipped is about the bottom track rubber installation. The video led me to install mine without and sealer or adhesive, and it came out. Fortunately nothing broke. I may start with 3M between the rubber and the track and see if that's enough to keep it together. I have a tube of it on hand and that's a bonus.
