Anyone have a dust cover for the heater control box lying around for a 73? Think I am just going to cap that off in the summer, cap the inlet into the firewall, and route the excess over to the side per the vapor lock Porsche tweak doc.

Do you have a pic or can you show in a parts diagram what you're referencing?

I think he means the Heater flapper valve hat

But I don't know why you need one if doing the vapor lock update which removes it.

Ohh, I mean the other side that would go into the hose-->opening in the firewall for the heat. I thought the dust cap would fit either side but maybe not? Regardless, something to cap off the other side of the box.

The heater valve Bruce is showing is connected to the tube that lives in the long via a flexible duct. There is no cap there.

What some people have been using to cap off the inlet tube (longitudinal) is a rattle can paint cap.

Hope this helps. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

You can buy an expandable rubber plug off Amazon. It has a bolt in the center that expands the rubber. I did not find paint cars fit well and you have to fashion some kind of clamp to keep them on.0

I did put a spray paint cap on the side going into the auto. Thought if I did the same on the other end it would melt. I like your idea better @bdstone914 , link?
