I removed the lines from this car, they were still limber but lets talk about risk reduction! GONE

I then inserted the Stainless lines from Chris - THANK YOU CHRIS!

Got them all connected (cleaned the tank, replaced the strainer, fixed the leak that resulted from changing the strainer)

Noticed a lot of goo around the lines at the firewall - see circled area.

Attached Image

Cleaned out the goo and found that it was the remnants of the bushings for the lines at the Firewall. OK, ordered new bushings (Grommets?) recevied them, slid them over the lines............hhmmm.....both are the same ID, however, the supply line has a larger OD. No matter, just added MORE silicone lube.

I then spent the next couple of hours trying unsuccessfully to get the grommets to fit into the firewall holes WHILE they were ON the fuel lines..... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Then the sun rose above my marble head and I realized that I needed to start over.

1. Insert Grommets
2. Insert Stainless lines

This order.

This note has just saved you at least 10 hours. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

I insert the grommet, wipe down the line with a generous amount of wd40 and feed it through the grommets. It helps to have a spotter with a light in the front of the cabin to get it through the front bulkhead. 5-10 minute job. Same with brake lines.
