If the speedo cable is disconnected at the trans will all of the trans oil spill out or is it ok to drive ?
Cannot seem to reconnect the speedo cable because it was dragged under the car for. Period of time |

Period of time If you just disconnect the speedo cable end and don't remove the angle gear assembly, there isn't any problem. but I would put something around the open end to make sure dirt doesn't get in. The gears inside will still be turning if you drive it. Or if the speedo cable is shot from dragging and needs to be replaced anyway, just hack the trans end off a couple inches from the end and leave that connected. It is a hardened cable and sheath so you need a good hacksaw or sharp chisel |

You can remove the speedo angle drive (with the big nut) without oil leakage.
If you remove the big aluminum bit then oil will leak. i just had to rebuild mine. |
