People from other car marques ask me both why Porsche for me, but also for so many others. Why Porsche? Because unlike many vintage car marques, Porsche is still racing and still winning. There is a reason they have won Le Mans more time than anyone else, they were built to race from the beginning, and they've never stopped! IMSA 2025 Champions, a trifecta. Porsche Penske Motorsport has taken all three 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship titles: Drivers’, Teams’, and Manufacturers’. Raceborn indeed!

We all have our reasons. Mine, is the post-war history. How the company rose from the ashes of WW2; the humble rebirth at the sawmill in Austria; the return to Stuttgart/Zuffenhausen. Love that stuff, knowing it's part of the DNA of my car.

The answer is pretty straightforward for me. They build real sports cars that are also reliable and practical enough to be used every day. My 911 hasn't been a weekend car. It's my daily driver.

47 years combined behind the wheel of these things.

They're in a defining class. State of the art for the $$$. They just need a more cost effective business model from what I hear.

For me, it's the car design. Over decades Porsche produced cars with few compromises and shortcuts, and with unique and, again, purposeful design. The cars also demanded something of the owner-driver (or at least used to).

An example: our 914s came with owner's manuals that described how to adjust the valves. How many other cars, then or especially now, have something like that?
