I'm guessing the "take the keys away from dad" discussion is pending... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Sure looks like it took a beating. But I do not click on anything I can’t read.

Here Ya Go. This is the R&T repost of the OG German Article:
Porsche 911 Crashes Backwards Through Wall Into Air Shaft, Still Drives Afterwards The nonagenarian driver allegedly confused the accelerator and brake pedals while inside the parking garage. By Joe KucinskiPublished: Nov 05, 2025 12:50 PM EST One of the reasons the Porsche 911 is so revered is its legendary toughness. That toughness is usually assessed on the racetrack; however, it was recently put to a much more bizarre test, when a 90-year-old man drove his 991-generation 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet straight through a concrete wall like the Kool-Aid Man, then down an air shaft in a parking garage in Germany. According to a report from Stuttgarter Zeitung, the driver was uninjured; even more incredibly the Porsche was able to start after the crash and move under its own power. The crash occurred on Monday, in a town hall garage in Ludwigsburg. A police investigation found that the driver reportedly confused the accelerator and brake pedals, according to Stuttgarter Zeitung; however, a police spokesperson added this cannot be attributed to the driver's age. As a result of the apparent mixup, the Porsche went backwards through a concrete wall and down a ventilation shaft, ultimately left dangling around 15 feet above the bottom of said shaft. While the driver was not injured, he was trapped inside the car until first responders were able to free him. In order to get the Porsche out of the air shaft, the fire department had to lower the car all the way down the shaft. The car was left there overnight. However, the next morning, the beaten 911 fired right up and could be driven out of the ventilation shaft before being towed away. Property damage is estimated to be over $100,000, according to police. Pictures of the unusual sight began to quickly circulate around social media. And Stuttgarter Zeitung offered a follow-up report after the son of the anonymous elderly driver spoke about the accident: the elderly driver still wants to continue driving even after this crash; however, the son says he believes it's time for dad to hand over the keys for good. Getting an elderly parent stop driving is never easy, but getting an elderly parent to stop driving a 911 might be impossible. While it's certainly a shame to see a car like this damaged, it is a relief to know nobody was injured in the crash—and a testament to the car's builder. ![]() |

My goodness. Glad he is okay. He may want to check which is the noisy pedal with it out of gear. Thank you for posting the article.
