The GT hood prop on my newly restored GT clone does not retract up against the inside of the hood. The springs are too weak.

Before I attempt to remedy this myself, I was wondering if anyone has experienced this and fixed it.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I had the same issue Tom. Wound the spring one revolution tighter but had to add a little clamp to keep it from slipping over the bend. Works well now.

Tom,

That is an awesome color! Willow green maybe?

We use a single prop (not the GT version) without springs on the fiberglass hood on our 914 that clips into a holder. That is an option, but otherwise probably just give the spring another turn?

Thanks John

I’ll give that a try.
