I just noticed that RD has a rear bumper mounting bracket kit (https://www.restoration-design.com/store/product/PP334BB). Until I noticed this I thought the bumpers just mount directly through the tail panel holes.
Were these used on original 74 and earlier rear bumpers? Where do they mount (upper hole only? Both holes?) TIA. Paul |

@didenpx ' date='Nov 15 2025, 09:39 PM' post='3232940'] Having done the conversion I’m not clear how te RD parts work ?? [/quote] details? They weld in the same places as the originals. The square piece welds to the tail panel above the trunk floor. The top bolt goes thru it. I designed those and had a local shop laser cut and form them. I sold them to RD as those look like my originals. I did them after buying a trunk floor and tail panel and saw the rusted condition of the original brackets. I made 25 sets. By selling to them they get them in there catalog and tool up for them later. The small holes are for puddle welds. They are in the same locations as the original spot welds. I still have a few sets if anyone want a set. $60 shipped. No tarrifs. Money goes to a good cause. Me. Bruce |
