The last few times I bought them they were through EMPI
very light gauge metal and I would consider junk. One even had a pin hole in them Where is a good place to source quality one? TIA |

The Type IV store sells billet aluminum, but they aren’t compatible with stock push rods. You have to use their chromoly push rods.

I'm running Chris' stainless tubes and chromoly push rods on both the street and racer, call him to see if he's got them in stock:

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Unless you're building a stroker motor, these are good ones. Otherwise, get the longer ones. |

Can the tubes and pushrods be replaced with motor in the car ? According to the google machine, Yes, you can replace pushrods and tubes on a Porsche 914 with the engine in the car, though it's tedious work requiring removal of valve covers, rockers, and heart exchangers (recommended), often needing some tubes to tilt or partially remove due to chassis clearance, and demanding careful reassembly with proper torque and seals to prevent major oil leaks. It's challenging but doable by working on one cylinder at a time, often with the engine raised or on tall jack stands. I give you this: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/lofiversion/i...php?t29951.html This feels like a question we could ask that new fancy 914world AI Agent. |
