The car was purchased by my father in 1979 in North Alabama. He and my mom drove it on many trips to the beach and mountains until they bought a Lincoln Continental and went down the luxury route. It sat in a barn from 1989 until I purchased it from him in 2017. It now resides in Western North Carolina.

From that point I started restoring it piece at a time.
All the sheet metal from Restoration Design.
The rust was limited to the hell hole, rear passenger fire wall (battery location), rear half of the floor pans where water leaked from the rear glass gasket and the back half of the truck floor from the taillight lenses gasket.

Then came restoring the mechanics: Brakes, Suspension, engine, Fuel injection system, Pedal Cluster, Transmission, new fuel tank, welded clutch tube in the tunnel, heater and fresh air box, and tires

Then the electrical: starting with a new main chassis wiring harness from Restoration Design. All interior, exterior lights (LED), horns, fog lights, relays, Hot Start wiring upgrade, Pertronix Electrical points
Voltage Regulator

Notable upgrades: Jwest Rennshift Shifter, 911 master cylinder, fuel pump in the frunk and stainless steel fuel lines in the tunnel, stainless steel heat exchanger, Restoration Design Main Chassis wiring harness,

The original color is Alaska Blue Metallic (96B), since my father owned and up to current date it is a darker blue. It is not oxidated and has a daily driver shine. It does have some dings and chips. When I restored the frunk I painted all the Sheetmetal Alaska Blue Metallic.

As you can tell by the pictures, I have brought it up level at a time. First the rust, then the mechanics, the electrical and now to the details.
I have sorted out the fresh air and heater vents and controls. Now installing the vent air flow in the dash. Then on to reinstalling the glove box and radio. It does need a new rear bumper rubber top… but for now that one is ok.

I did buy a 1973 2.0l engine that I am cleaning up, inspecting, and getting it ready to go into the car.

The Hood and Trunk need to be aligned with the body a bit better.
I did buy an oil temperature gauge and have it mounted under the dash. I don’t really like that arrangement much and am looking for a combination fuel gauge and oil temperature gauge that would go in the dash… but for now this is going to work.

This car is at a place that you can take it out and drive it… really enjoy it and continue to improve it. My wife says I like working on them better than driving them! There might be some truth to that.

Why am I selling it? Well I have always wanted to own a 911 and I have a friend that has one too many….
So there is… the temptation!

It will not win a Concours d’Elegance, but a weekend driver that is a whole lot of fun and dependable.
I have detailed list of replacement parts, pictures during the restoration and receipts for parts.

PM me and I will send you a link to more pictures
