I am trying to gather the parts needed to install a 2.4S engine into my 914 restoration project. I have seen the various mounts that need to be welded to the firewall, but i'm yet to see a picture of the item that is fixed to the 911 engine. Does anyone have a picture or a link to a thread that might educate me further.? I assume the 911 item i removed from the case is 911 specific.?

Many thanks in advance

Dave

There's a few different styles. Here's a few links to view. I like the OEM copy vs the double mount version. My brother went with the double style mount on his 6 build. It was a little bit of a pain to get the motor hung and that's with two people. With the OEM mount I can install the engine by myself.

Luke gave you some great examples. The piece needed comes with any bulkhead mount that you purchase and looks very similar to a 911 engine mount.

Here is a factory original 914-6 (911T) engine side mount.

The mad Dog mount shown in Luke’s first link most closely mimics the OEM mount.

Each has some pluses and minuses

The OEM mount worked great for Porsche and is fairly easy to line up during engine install. No personal experience with the others.

Good luck with the project.
