Where do your shop clothes live between wears?

I've got dedicated garage jeans and a couple shirts that I'm not ready to wash after one session. Right now they end up on the floor of the laundry room stinking up the place and the potential to transfer grease to other stuff is high. My wife has opinions about it.

Curious what other people do - garbage bag? Hook on the wall? Something smarter?

Coveralls that live in the garage. I fold them up and they have a place in top compartment of on of my toolboxes. If I'm doing something quick in the garage I might not put them on, but if I'm doing anything involving grease, solvents, brake fluid, or grime I'm putting them on. I also have dedicated shoes to wear when working on the cars. I buy big boxes of gloves at Costco and think of them as protection from getting nasty stuff on the door handles, etc. If I'm going inside they get taken off and I put a new pair on when I go back to working on the cars.

Hooks on the wall in the shop. I try to use coveralls as much as possible. I must have 5-6 coveralls. Wash them at laundromats, not at home.

I'm an overalls guy...but same applies. Hang on hooks (not crowded) especially if oils/solvents are on them. Launder only in someone else's machine. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I don't tend to wash that kind of stuff for a longggggg time.

Ask wife which she’d rather have to put up with; The smell of perfume on clothes wondering where you’ve been or gear lube knowing you’ve been entertaining yourself in the garage.

Her opinions may change. Maybe this advice only works with certain types of women? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Certainly don’t take advice from me cause’ I just wash stuff in my own washer. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

My wife washes my garage clothes in her washer on a regular basis usually without me even asking. I can't use her oven or dishwasher though.

I just throw stuff in the washer immediately upon entering the house. I piss off my wife doing all kinds of stuff but dirty clothes on the floor isn't one of them. If I was going to reuse something, it would stay in the shop. My wife is sensitive to smells, especially petroleum based. If I left them inside the house, she would bag them and throw them in the garbage.

Dirty clothes go into the dirty clothes hamper and get washed with everything else on Friday.

I used to wear coveralls in the shop but got out of that habit. I think about starting it again, but nah. Shorts and an old t-shirt.

A friend of mine had the same issue of the wife not wanting his garage stuff in her machine so when they got a new washer/dryer we installed the old washer in his garage dedicated to garage shop clothes and towels . No longer in her washer . Everyone happy.

I wear coveralls when it's not hot outside and usually get dropped wherever I happen to be standing. I normally order 3 suits a year, by the end of the year they are usually pretty trashed.
I wash them and my summer work clothes periodically but my wife makes me do it separate from any other clothes and I still get dirty looks....
