Hello All-

I did a post a while back asking if anyone had experience doing the flares from AIR. I did not see any previous posts on this topic. Since then I did the install on the flares and the 916 style bumpers. I thought that it might be helpful to do a post on these parts if any one is considering buying the AIR parts or taking on this project. I do hear mixed reviews of AIR quality recently.
I will start with a critique and install of the flares, then address the front & rear bumpers.

I pre-drilled and fitted the flares using sheet metal screws. When these flares were located fore and aft in the wheel opening with the top of the flare correctly positioned to meet the top of the fender, the shape of the flare did not conform very well to the curve of the fender. I had to use quite a few screws to suck the flare into the fender.

All and all these fiberglass parts were relatively inexpensive, I was trying to keep the costs down on this project and not looking to build a show quality car. As some have mentioned, the steel flares are a more "proper" way to go. The fiberglass does entail a significant amount of grinding and filling to get them faired in to the body. I kind of enjoy doing body work like this so take that into consideration when reading my review. The quality of the fiberglass material itself was OK, no excessive pinholes, etc.

The end results - they look OK. I will post more pics in another post. Also I will review the bumpers - that is another story
