It should create a slightly lower pressure zone under the engine that should slightly increase engine cooling.

I would use them.

I did some experiments on my 6-cyl several years ago and found that they help with
lowering the oil temp. Not proof for the 4-cyl but hey the factory added them. It is
a very cheap thing to do if it doesn't do any harm.

Engine cooling makes sense.... Being I'm gerbil powered compared to those in my class, wondering if there is any drag impact?

Worried about additional drag? I sincerely doubt they create much...I use 'em in my 2L IT-prep historics car even though I have no engine tin surrounds.

Yes,

I tested with and without the plastic pieces on my EP race car back in 2005. There should be a thread, there was on the club site. I also had a video posted somewhere from a go pro, and they move quite a bit. My car only had about 3.5 inches of ground clearance so they would drag on the ground. I did have a 15-20 degree CHT reduction, which I thought was amazing.
