Hello,
Swapping out the 2.0 l engine in my 1971 for another 2.0 l ...Has lower miles (35k) and documented build. Both engines carbed I see the engine harness in a bit different at the end that connects to fan blower. Pic 1 is the from the existing engine that had the fan blower mounted. Has the two wire connector to plug into the fan plug... Pic 2 is from the replacement engine. I only see a white wire that is spare. Could this be the fan power and then I use a common ground? In understand what the other wires in the pic connect to. Thanks the help going forward pic 1 pic 2 car |

Use the ignition harness in Pic 1 on your 1971 car, its correct for your set-up, with the fan mounted to the engine. The Pic 2 harness is for 1973-76 cars with the heater fan mounted to a stand on chassis.

Alternator? The ignition harness connects to the relay board, not the Alternator.
You can find diagrams of the two harnesses on my harness website. |
