Is there a way to get the seat to move forward, since the handle is snapped off without removing the seat, at least till I can get another one put in?

reach underneath the seat, to the rail where the handle used to attach. push it upwards with your fingers and slide the seat back

have you tried putting a screwdriver (a long one) in as a lever?

If it is mostly forward and will not come off the rails there is a limit spring that must be lifted to continue forward off the rails
If it is still rearward and will not move forward with the broken handle part lifted you've probably got a lot of rust/corrosion on the rails. Keep the broken handle part lifted and get brutal on the back of the seat. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) |

Those three pins lock into the slider.
 So this needs to raise up. I would wedge a screw driver to hold that up so it keeps the pins off of the slider. Then like said above, get violent down low in the back. It may take that to get it moving. WD 40 might help.   |

Still no luck getting it to budge, and no room in the back to do anything.
I took the cushion out, and was trying to tap on that pipe through one of those holes to jar it loose, but no luck so far. |

Remove the four bolts that attach the seat frame to the hinges and take the seat out of the car. Turn it upside down where everything is more accesably. Slide the frame off the rails. Clean and lube the rails on the seat and the froction surfaces on the frame. |
