One of the first things I remember when i started working on the first one was looking at the clutch pedal and saying to myself, " I'll probably learn why that rod is threaded like that." So clue me in

The clutch needs to be precisely dialed in so that the spring passes an "over-center" point during the first third of its travel. This reduces the physical foot effort required to hold the pedal down. A fixed cast pedal wouldn't allow the precision needed to align the pedal perfectly with this mechanical sweet spot." |
