I was waitiing for someone else to start a thread, since I don't have pictures, but here it goes.

I phoned Ralf late Friday to say I would only show up on Saturday morning.

Ralf phones back half an hour later saying: "Michel, Do you have a spare CV joint at home you can bring ? someone showed up with a broken one, like you did last year" I was only happy to return a favor, so I brought a whole half-shaft. Turns out the CV joint was not broken, but that the bolts had backed out at the left outboard end.

Repairs got done, and the ramble happened.

I rode with Ed Villela, in his 911, 'cause I felt like a break from driving (and because Ed is a nice guy). We were in a little group of three cars that had hung back on account of the CV joint repair. With us were Nick and Heather in their absolutely awesome 914 with flares and camed 3.0 SC engine, and Mihai with his 914-project-in-the-making (Hey, he made the trip and back).

Then, a few beers before dinner, which was great.

This thread will get more interesting as people post pictures (unless another is started) but the weather held and we had a great time.

I left after dinner, around 22:00, and was home at 1:30 Sunday morning. The green car ran like a top and all was well. I did hit a skunk near Plattsburgh NY.

Nice to see everyboy again, and I look forward to next year !

I had a great time as well. Michel was a great copilot and photographer (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

Lots of nice cars and lots of new folks this year, once again the ECR was a great success.

I had just finished the 3.0L 914-6 that I was building for Nick Cole on Friday. This was the maiden voyage. With the exception of the cv bolts coming loose on 1 axle, the car logged about 1000 trouble free miles this weekend.

Nicks car has a 1980 3.0L, with a fresh top end, 964 cams, CIS, headers and a sport muffler. This car absolutely flyes. It is amazingly quick, snapping your head back into the seats in the first 3 gears. It may be the fastest 914 that I have ever driven. It is incredibly smooth and quite on the highway, an absolute pleaseure to drive. I now understand the mystique of a well set up 914-6. Don't let antone bullsh%t you, nothing else rocks like a flat six in the middle of a 914. Now I gotta build one for myself (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) .
BTW- you can see the 914 in my webshots album, under Nick Cole's 914.

I saw and drove Mihai's 914, he did an excellent job on his longitudianl repairs. The car is stiff and tracks well, No creaks or rattles or groans from the body. Keep up the great work Mihai.

It was a pleasure seeing all my ramble buddies and we did miss the regulars who couln't make it.

Ralph did an outstanding job as usual.

Can't wait to see some pictures get posted.

I had an excellent time also, first I made the trip in one piece, then I got the chance to drive a couple of nice cars and not all Porsches necessarily.

The funniest event of the ramble happened today while a couple of people were driving to mount Equinox, while doing around 90 and getting passed by like nothing by a race orientated 911, I got the chance to literally see the license plate fly off that car! I got quite a drive up the mountain in the same 911, I guess that the fact that it was pushed by Joe's car in the back helped!

As usual, the people made it worth while being there and it was good seeing the usuals. The hostesses were great... how can one complain (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Yup, Nick's car is quite something as my neck still hurts, Evill Ed did a great job, just like if it was his own car, they're just not that good at cleaning tools (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

Ralf did a great job as usual!

All in all a great ramble, can't wait for the pictures!

I had an incredible time! Even though I missed the "ramble" portion of it. I found what happens when you let Webers sit without blowing them out good once in awhile (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)

Ed thanks for the quick lesson on jet cleaning!!

The location was awesome as was the company and the food. I could only stay the day but had a good time never the less. Good job Ralph!

Heather and I had a fantastic time on the ramble. It really was a great weekend. Starting with picking up the car at Ed's on Thursday night before the ramble. It really was something seeing and hearing the car finished for the first time. It exceeded my expectations both in the way the car looked and drove. Car ran perfectly for the whole weekend and the 9 hr run home from the ramble. Mihai thank you for diving under the car to work on the axle. Next time I'll bring more tools and work clothes. Joe thanks for the jack! Michel thanks for bring down the axle and running off to the parts store to get some bolts. Now if only the work day would end so I could go drive the car some more.

Joe showed up in a big brutish pick-up towing a small and cute mid-engined car of german design. His company was a lot of fun, as usual.
There may have been some water cooled cars too, but I did'nt notice.

I was there and the Tail Dragger was home... On Friday morning I put the
tranny in the 914 and towed it up North.... Look in the Picture at the bottom
of Mount Equinox I am the Red 914 in the front of the line... Look at the picture at the top of the Mountian... I am the second car in line chased Peter all the way up.... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) . At the top I am the guy in the red shirt and shorts with Arms foled in the foreground of the 914....

As I said, we were baby sitting my grand-daughter. I got home at 1H30, and at 1H45 I had a baby and a bottle in my hands. Heaven.

BTW have'nt mentionned Bernadette yet. I enjoyed her company just as much as yours, Joe.

Seems to me that cameras were snapping all day Saturday. I wanna see moe pictures !
