Finally getting motivated to start the long list of winter projects. Car is officially "off the road" now.
drained all the fuel, started the maintence.

also spent some time on the accesories. Got 2 more wheels finished and #5 and #6 started.
Here are some wheel shots.

Nice job!

How did you get the mask line so straight on the spokes? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif)

Mike,

the trick is in quality products.
I used a fine line specialty tape that is available from paint shops...

masking is a big pain, and its all done by "eyeballing" it.
but the tape makes the line clean!

I hate polishing too.
I'm fine with stripping and masking.
Dad again deserves all of the credit for the shine/polishing.

The above example doesn't show curb rash, but many of our wheels had it.

He sands it out first with an air grinder and soft grinding pads. Then multiple steps of hand sand paper.
finally fine papser (1000K+)

and then buffing wheels, buffing compounds, and more buffing.

Nice job Brant (and Bob)!

Are those for the black car or for the race car?

race car.

(but black car running and roadworthy with new paint is one of the big items on my list for this winter.)
