The big black casing of the CV joint after taking out the 4 12 star bolts; in the other two holes are there pins, hex bolts or star studed bolts keeping that piece on??? Need to disassmble 'cause the ball bearing cage broke when "ear" went............already have replaced the ear.........stuck at this point.........

dowel pins.
if you pull enough it might come off, otherwise use a screwdriver, try not to mark up the surfaces too much! |

Whack on it with a rubber mallet. Don't pry with a screwdriver unless it's really dire.
